{Newborn Photo Shoot :: Ollie Max}

It is safe to say I was CRAZY for thinking it was a good idea to do a newborn photo shoot the day after getting home from the hospital. Ollie and I were up all night and as soon as I got him to sleep for a few hours straight it was time for me to be up and getting everyone ready for the photo shoot at 9am.

I love that we got 2 of our family that actually turned out cute. I didn't think I would like any of them with me - I did NOT feel cute at all after just having my third baby.

Everyone LOVES to kiss Ollie.
Still not sure if he likes it as much as they do!

These boys love this Ollie baby SO much it melts my heart.

I wish I had one of those babies who did AWESOME with newborn photos that just stayed asleep and let you do super cute things with them. But nope I have yet another baby who hated his newborn photo shoot and screamed like crazy 90% of it. I am over the moon that Carin was able to get a few that truly show how sweet this baby is . I just love all of his hair!!

{Welcome Ollie Max :: Birth Story}

Welcome
Ollie Max Wood
August 19, 2014
8 lbs. 11 oz. 18.5 in.

I know I said that if I had the choice to NEVER be induced again after my experience with Ryker I would gladly wait until my baby decided to come on his own... well sadly this pregnancy was VERY hard on my body and after the stress of buying our first home and moving and all of that not sending me into labor and knowing how big Grayson was I was terrified that if he kept cooking he was going to be over 10 lbs. So I got my doctor to induce me 2 days before my due date. I was VERY frustrated that the doctor wanted to induce me the same way they did with Ryker by using cervidil even after I explained that it did NOTHING for me with Ryker but the doctor said that is the ONLY way she would induce me. Lame. So I agreed and prayed that the cervidil would work this go and not take 2 days to get this baby here. We checked into the hospital Monday night they put the cervidil in and Brady and I enjoyed hanging out playing cards, watching movies, and eating candy together {yes my nurse was AWESOME and let me eat - remember how with Ryker they didn't let me eat for over 24 hours during this process}. They took the cervidil out {was about 3 cm and 70% it worked!!} and started me on Pitocin at 6am, and I got some Benadryl for my itchy mosquito bitten legs that were driving me CRAZY, broke my water at 7am and I finally started having contractions - these contractions were different than with Ryker and Grayson they started in my back and moved forward so much more painful. I was so grateful when I  got my epidural at 7:30am {I was about 5 cm} and was falling asleep through it all due to the Benadryl. I woke up and felt tons of pressure and was 8cm and my nurse said she would be back in 30 mins to check me again because she knew how quick everything went Grayson and before she came back I felt tons of pressure again and we called her in and I was complete! She called the Doctors and I started pushing. Thankfully I only had to push for about 10 mins and our sweet "shrimp baby" entered this world at 10:34am screaming loud {he is our first to do this the other 2 I had to keep asking if they were OK because they were so quite and it scared me}.

I was so thrilled that once they got me on the Pitocin everything went quickly and that I was able to get a FULL epidural and was not a screaming, swearing maniac embarrassing Brady like I was with Grayson.  The doctors actually even said how nice and calm I was. We had a BIG laugh at that and said that was all thanks to the epidural and that I got it before I was in too much pain.

Everyone was teasing us for calling him "shrimp baby" because for most people Ollie was a BIG baby but for us he was small. He was 3 inches shorter than Grayson and almost a pound less. So I will take my shrimp!

It was also weird not having a name for the poor little guy for almost 2 days. We just could not decided which name we liked more Ollie Max or Kingston Max. They both seemed to fit too well. Ryker even had some great suggestions
Little Legs Wood
Army Baby Wood
and a few super hero's but now I cant remember which ones
But it was Ryker and Grayson who ended up helping us finally decide on Ollie late Wednesday night. Brady and I really fell in love with it when we heard how cute it was hearing Grayson say Ollie "babe Olya" We knew all along that his middle name was going to be after both of his Grandpa's so at least we kept to our tradition of only having one of their two names picked out before they were born. It is usually a middle name that we are unsure about though.

I love that he came out with a head full of dark curls!! They went away when they washed his hair but after every bath he has them big time so we are hoping he keeps the curls like Ryker.

I have decided it makes me sad looking back at hospital pictures and the lack there of due to Brady and I being too in the moment to get many photos in the labor room. I guess that is one of many perks to having your babies close to family so your mom can be in there playing paparazzi.

 Grayson was SOOOO happy to see/hold his new brother the moment he walked into the room. This cute grin did not leave his face. He loves Ollie SOO much!

He really likes to point out all of Ollie's body parts and squish him.

Ryker has been so sweet and helpful with Ollie. He told me he will be Ollie's "protector" from Grayson. Its a good job for him because Ollie needs it!

I feel so blessed to have these 4 as my PEOPLE!!

It was fun the hospital did a ceblitory dinner for us that was steak and veggies and cheese cake and sparkling grape juice. It was cute and yummy and we had fun with the fancy glasses and our fancy dinner in my super fancy "gown"! haha
