Memorial Day Demolition Durby

For Memorial Day we were in Delta for the Wood Family Reunion. It was fun to see all of Brady's relatives that we don't get to see often.

After the reunion we headed down to the fair grounds for the Delta Rabbits Football Team Durby. It was a blast! There was this one green car that was AMAZING! He was smashing everyone like they should be.

My goal is to someday race in the 4th of July Durby. I think it would be so much fun and great for my road rage. I can't wail for the 4th this year that durby is much more fun and all of the family will be in town for it also. Hope ya'll had a great long weekend.

Happy Birthday Jenni

I am so lucky to have such a great friend like Jenni thanks to our wonderful husbands. Brady and Brent are childhood friends therefore Jenni and I became good friends right away. I love hanging out until the wee hours of the morning playing games with her and always saying just 5 more minuets that turns into at least 1 more hour of fun. It has been even more fun having Brent and Jenni live 2 minuets away from us. Thanks for being such a great friend Jenni. We love you!!!

Last Saturday night we had a birthday party dutch oven cook out and Bonn fire in their backyard. It was a blast and got us all excited for our camping trip in a few weeks. I love summer time and all of the outdoor events it brings.

I have no clue what is so funny but I think Brady is so cute when he is laughing hard like that.

And lastly why Jenni is so amazing. She is completely enamoured by fire just like me. I love sitting out by the fire for hours and just talking and watching the flames change colors. I know I'm not supposed to play with fire but it just calls my name.

Jenni thanks for being born and for being our friend. We will be so sad when the day comes that we don't like down the street from you and Brent. We hope this Birthday is full of fun and laughter!. Love you!

Chuga Chuga Choo Choo Liam turned 2

Happy Late Birthday Liam! He is such a stud and we get to hang out almost everyday since I have not been working and I am really going to miss that when I have to get back to reality.

Brady is so good with Liam and they both love playing together. I am so lucky to have a husband who loves kids so much. Our Kiddos someday will have so much fun with him.

Liam LOVES and I mean LOVES trains. So we had a awesome trains party. Poor Megan now has more trains at her house than she knows what to do with and now she cant get out of the house without Liam wanting to take them all with him. He is such a funny little guy.

Last but not least our AMAZING cake! Megan and I totally made the pattern up and it actually didn't take us too long to decorate it. We had a blast making it and eating lots of frosting... yummy! Not only did it look this good but it tasted even better!

Crosswalks in Provo

For the past 8 months we have been living in what Brady likes to call cougar country. For all who don't go to BYU or have gone to BYU he means we live in the neighborhood that all married and single BYU students live in. Before living here I always hated driving through this area because students would just walk out in front of your car without even looking. It would scare me and drive me crazy. Just because you are in a crosswalk does not mean you don't have to use your eyes before stepping out into the road.
But now that I walk and roller blade these streets often I understand why most of them have to do this. Cars simply will not stop for you unless you do start to walk out in front of them. I do not understand why it is drivers around here don't stop but it drives me wild.
I will not roller blade around here any more for this reason. I have been crossing the street while on my blades and had 3 out of 4 lanes stopped for me to cross and then almost be plowed down by a 40 mph car. Yes I know it was frightening. Then a few days later I was in the biker lane blading and this HUGE Suburban comes flying by and I looked down and its tire was inches away from my foot. It is true Utah has the worst drivers ever! Therefor after these incidents I decided I rather enjoy being alive and not having broken bones.
Moral of the story if you are walking in this area be aggressive but smart and if your driving stop for the pedestrians in crosswalks!

Life can be very unexpected...

As most of you know I was laid off back in February and have been searching for a job like crazy. Life has not been too bad while I have been job searching until last Friday. Brady came home from work and told me that his company laid off the entire sales department. Luckily he is not in that department but what that does mean is that his company is going under. Brady's job is to retain their 17,000 clients but once those clients are done needing their services the company will be dissolved. They told him that he can count on a job until August and after that they are unsure. So now both of us are on the job search. It was very kind of their management to at least give them a heads up of their lack of job security. So he can still be working while looking for something new.

Since Brady did not get into grad school this year we were planning on staying in the Provo area for the next year but now we are thinking about picking up and moving down south where it will be WAY too hot for me St. George. Brady's best friend Blake lives down there and he works for a good stable company and he told us that he could get Brady a job with them and even if I wanted one also that could probably happen also. So we are very grateful for Blake's help on this. Nothing is final by any means but that is looking like our best option as of now.

Other than that our life is full of joy and happiness. Brady and I are so blessed to surrounded by such great family and friends who we love to spend time with. It will be hard and sad to leave them all but I guess that is what life is all about... Change. I will keep everyone posted on what will be happening with our little Wood family.

The Lord has reminded me yet again that he is in charge of what goes on down here and that I just need to have faith in him that everything will be OK and it all happens for a good reason. This has been a very good reminder for me. In case any of you don't already know this I am a planner. I like to have everything planned out so I can be prepared for it. The last few months have been anything but planned and very unexpected. But I do know that as long as we keep doing what is right and living good lives the Lord will take care of us.

Nauvoo and Carthage

I am truly sorry I have not been blogging the past month. I guess I needed a break and now I am back! Last month my family went out to visit my sister Kelsey and her family in Chicago. On this trip we also got to take a 5 1/2 hour drive down to Nauvoo.

I never thought I would enjoy seeing church sites as much as I did. I now have a new respect and admiration for the sacrifices the early saints had to make so I can live now with the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life today. It was so neat to go through the Nauvoo Temple also and see how it would have looked back then and it is amazing to know that they were that advanced in architecture. It was truly beautiful!

We also made the drive to Carthage where our Prophet Brother Joseph Smith was martyred. The sprite there was overwhelming and peaceful. I loved learning more about where our church came from and cant wait to learn more and go back with Brady.
