{Yellow River Game Ranch :: Nana & Papa}

Nana and Papa's trip was super quick but we were able to still have some fun while they were here for graduation. We finally got to take them to the Yellow River Game Ranch. We love this place and love taking people with us to enjoy it.

Papa and Ryker watching/feeding the black bears. The bears started fighting... that was a sight to see for sure! 

I just love kissing this sweet chubby baby.

 This was Grayson's first time being up and close to farm animals. He was a bit unsure about them still.

 Papa & Nana sure had a great time feeding the animals also.

 Ryker is VERY timid with most things in life but for some reason he has LOVED coming here since he was just tiny and has had NO fear of feeding the goats and other animals. It is so fun to watch him giggle with such excitement when they lick his hand every time.

I have never seen a peacock spread its feathers like this before. So beautiful. I love all of the vibrant colors.

 I am so happy and blessed that my boys have two sets of grandparents who love them to pieces and want to be apart of their lives. I did not really have this growing up and LOVE that my children will have these memories. 

{MLK & Oakland Cemetery}

There is so much to see/do here in Atlanta. Every time we have family come to town we try to do new things. With this trip we decided to do more historical Atlanta things. First we headed to the Martin Luther King church and birth home. 

The stain-glass throughout the church was pretty. It is always so interesting to me that other religions just let you walk through their churches like they are museums. 

It was interesting learning more about the King family and talking to my parents about their childhood memories of that time. Dr. King's wife Coretta was so beautiful and seemed like such a good lady. We could not take photos in the birth house but they National Park service has restored the whole neighborhood to look as it did when he would have lived there. Its pretty neat to take a step back in time like that. 

 We sure enjoyed having Grammy and Grandpa in town. 

This is how excited daddy was to be done with school and enjoying some much needed family time! 

 We had lunch at the park and flew kites and played boccie ball. It was a pretty prefect park day. 

Nana and I have this odd love for cemeteries. I remember as a kid going to cemeteries on every vacation and trudging around New Orleans checking them out and having the boys lift up rotting wood and hundreds of roaches scattering from underneath. YUCK!! 

 We took a civil war walking tour of the cemetery and that was fun to learn so much about the plots and people who were buried their. This is the most photographed headstone in the whole cemetery. 

 Our tour guide told us the story of "tweet" the smallest grave in Oakland. Tweet was a mocking bird and the  guy who carved the headstones didn't know how to carve a mocking bird so he made a sheep. Kind of silly. 

This is one of the largest mausoleums there and it even has stain glass in it. They have 50 mausoleums in here.   It is really sad this cemetery is 88 acres and most of the graves belong to small children. It was sad to see so many small graves. You can only be buried here if your family already owns a plot and they only have about 15 burials a year here. Pretty crazy.

This cemetery was so beautiful to just walk around. I think we will be going back again to just enjoy a nice stroll. I love learning more about history and it was great spending the day with our family. 

{Park with Nana & Papa}

Nana decided that Grayson was big enough to try the slide out solo. 

 And this is what he thought of that. 

 These brothers love to swing. They would both swing all day if I would allow it. 

The weather was perfect for playing at the park. We sure love these two. 

{DPT 2013 Graduation}

We made it!
This handsome man of mine is officially Dr. Wood. I can't believe how fast these past three years have gone by but boy am happy to have them done with. Our time in school has been hard, stressful, and full of good friends to keep us busy.

From White Coat ceremony first year to graduation day three years later. Boy have these two changed.

 Our morning started out early and chilly for the big university commencement ceremony. Traffic was terrible getting there but so worth it. The boys did so well at both ceremonies. I was so relived by this. I kinda felt like we were in a movie outside in the beautiful courtyard. 

 Dr. Brady Wood being hooded. I am so proud of this guy of mine for all of his hard work and making it to this day. Way to go sweets!!! You are amazing!!

If you would have asked me what our family would look like on this day 4 years ago I would have only thought it would still be just the two of us but I am sure glad that is not what the Lord had in mind for us. These cute little guys are a TON of work but worth it and I love being their mama.

This was earned by both of us!
Anyone who thinks the wife of a grad student doesn't deserve some credit is SO wrong. We worked hard to get to this day as a team and will continue to work as a team throughout our lives.

 We were sure happy to have all of these wonderful grandparents come into town for this special day.
